Your Own Standards: A Call to hair loss specialists

Updated: Jul 26, 2024

Hey there, it's Sharni Knighton, and I'm on a mission to elevate industry standards by empowering hair loss specialists to work with integrity and client care at the forefront of every interaction. But here's the thing – my role is not to dictate what you should do. Instead, it's about guiding and inspiring you to set your own guidelines, to define your own standards of excellence.

Just as I guide my clients through their hair loss journey, I want to challenge you, fellow stylist, to create your own set of standards. Think about your clinic, your values, and what matters most to you. What are the principles that you want to uphold in every aspect of your work?

Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting a group Zoom session where the lovely Alison from Glow with Alison, shared some insights into her own practice standards. She boldly decided to only work with clients who never intend to wear their natural hair again. And you know what? I absolutely love this.

Alison's decision may be very different from how I operate, but it's a testament to the power of setting boundaries and sticking to them. She's put her client care at the forefront of everything she does, and that's something to be admired.

So I ask you: what are your practice standards? What principles do you hold dear, and what makes you proud to say that you uphold them? Whether it's prioritizing client comfort, ensuring transparency in your processes, or committing to ongoing education, take a moment to reflect on what sets you apart.

Today's blog is a short one, but I hope it leaves you with some food for thought. As hair loss specialists, we have the power to shape the industry for the better. So let's set our own standards, lead by example, and continue to raise the bar for excellence in client care and ethical practice.
